I mean there is nothing in water that would make it taste better when cold, i know its a pointless question but why

First, I prefer room temp. water. I was conditioned after not having a cooler for bottled water at the cottage.

That said (and pointless), rarely is water without something dissolved in it. For example, where I live there is lots of Calcium and Magnesium in the water, where my uncle lives there is a lot of iron (with iron munching bacteria that make it smell like rotten eggs).

Finally the point. Warm water lets the 'odor' of these dissolved substances move faster, thus getting up to the olfactory areas and you interpret this as bad taste.

Really.

water doesnt have a taste, but it feels better cause your mouth is warm, but room temp. water is beter for you because it hydrates your tissues more efficiantly and isnt as shocking to your body.
