This is a question that, in this day and age, may be one of the hardest to answer. I am a fairly modest individual. I don't dress up often by when I do, it's either "do it right or don't do it at all". My personal opinion is this: as far as shirts go, and this is shared between t's,polo's,button down's, and long sleeves, the number of days in a week X 3. The number of pants should reflect where you live. For example, if you live in Florida like me you can get away with having 6 or 7 pairs of pants. If you live New England, double it. Shoes should reflect your lifestyle. Do you skateboard? Go out on the town a lot? Hike at all? I have a pair of hiking boots, two pairs of dress shoes, three pairs of casual soes and two pairs of sandals (one for the beach, the other for being lazy around town). Oh, and have some suits on standby, you never know when you might need them. Hope this helps.

It is really more a matter of what an individual can afford to purchase. You probably need more shoes that sandals if you have cold weather during the winter.

2 of each. But no sandals.

If you want to dress exactly like money, get the TravelSmith catalog.
The required male outfit is a pair of loafter shoes, tan pants, brown leather belt, light blue long-sleeve shirt, navy blue jacket.

I prefer Johnny Depp's thinking. He designed a wardrobe that is him SPECIFICALLY. It took me a while to repeat the same thing. I got exactly the right combination in belt, pants, shirt from Cabelas.

Other items, as the right hat, underarmor t shirt and underarmor underware, etc. came from other suppliers. But my outfit is unique to me.

Hope this helps.

A nice suit, a pair of jeans and a couple of black t-shirts and a jacket works for me.

I've got a great, super comfortable pair of hiking boots I always wear... nothing is better for your feet.

Too much stuff will drive you CRAZY.

If you haven't worn something in a year... give it to Goodwill.

well, it depends on what your job is...and what your lifestyle is. If you work in a more formal environment, then the sky is the limit on the number of items you should have, just dont go out of your budget!!
