I was looking for a file on my computer and I was looking through the hidden files. On my desktop there were some weird files (which I didn't notice before because they were hidden). The names were something like this: ~WRL0277.tmp ~WRL2533.tmp etc

Any idea what these are? Can I delete them?

Google them to see what they are before creating any problems to your system.

Just open Google or Yahoo and type the names of the files in the search bar and you will learn what they are and what they are supposed to be.

Good luck

It looks like word temp files.. If you have a word document on the desktop that you have opened and are working on it, everytime you click on save it will create a temp file. Closing word will get rid of them.

Though sometimes if the word document is not closed properly it will leave these files behind. So it should be ok to delete them if you dont have any word documents open

Those are temporary files that were created by programs or by web sites that did not get deleted when you left the site or closed the program. You can delete them. If you are concerned, just make sure you have no programs running before you delete them. That way if they were/are in use, you will have ended their usage before you deleted.
