If it is a few years old it is not worth the price of repair. You can get very good ones between $100-$150. Let's say a repair cost $50. Is your microwave worth the price?

I think the question should be about the convenience on repair the microwave because sometimes the part you need is a lot expensive may be cost more than the microwave itself

Yes but not economical, most repairers will want £40+ to put machine on the bench & you can buy a new microwave for less than that

When the door closes the latches push micro-switches so it can run. When you open the door the switches open so you don't cook your self. Call around and ask some shops what they charge to replace the switches it might be worth it. Don't attempt to do anything your self the magnetron has 3000 volts on it.

Do not attempt to repair it. When ever a micro. is repaired by a tech. a survey meter is used to check for radiaton leaks. Without doing this it puts you and others in danger.
