Discussed it, right away. It's good to know you are not wanting marriage when the other person is just looking for a casual relationship. You would waste each others time.

The discussions ranged from: KIDS? Do we want any?
How much MONEY will we REALLY need?
WHERE will we LIVE?
Will we continue with our current JOBS?
What RELIGION will we remain involved with?
How can we be ready for EmERGENCIES?
Unexpected ILLNESSES?
What if one of us should DIE unexpectedly?
What about health insurance/Life Insurance?
Dental and Eye doctor appts?
YES. It was all discussed ahead of time.
WHen he proposed, I was still surprised. But I knew who I was marrying after 1.5 years of dating.

we discussed it. He was for, I was against. We finally agreed, agreed on important aspects of a marraige, and then he proposed. It is somewhat presumptious to buy a ring and propose without discussing it to some extent.

We discussed it many times before hand but it was a surprise when he proposed.

we discussed it on our first date...I told him where I was at with my life and what I wanted for the future. My husband says that he felt like I was interviewing him for that future husband...he was right, he felt the same way.

We talked about it in general terms - what kind of life we saw ahead of us. After over two years dating, it just seemed the natural thing to do.
