I heard it as a radio play, but I believe it had been stage produced before that. I don't think it was a novel, but I could be wrong. The basic plot was, in a modern setting, a tour of various sections of the after-life by a deceased person. (Harry?) Only late in the play was real heaven encountered as his guide(?) had been avoiding it.(?)
Heaven was full of weeping. It was the only place where people could see the world as it was, know what it might be, and care about the difference.
The best I can do, but I'd love to be able to refresh a very incomplete memory of a stimulating piece.

I'm sorry that you haven't been able to find this play. It actually sounds very good, and just reading your description got me thinking/reflecting. I tried looking in google, ask, yahoo etc. but I haven't been able to find anything. I'll keep looking, but if you ever do find your play, let me know because I would be very interested in hearing it. Thank you again for letting me know about this play, (and giving me some food for thought); I'll get back to you if I find anything.
