Is there a time limitation for my ex wife to take her share of my 401K (stated in the decree to take 50%) after a divorce in Texas? i.e. will she loose the right for this money if she waits a certain number of months/years?
Thank you.

She doesn't have the right to it. Ask your attorney.

One answer for you: Consult a lawyer. I believe (in CA) it's 6 mos., but in this situation you need to know for sure! Most lawyers will provide a free consultation. Protect yourself.
