I DO kill my own meat and prepare it. Sometimes, I'll even assist in butchering the cow, deer, chicken, or whatever it is I've got. Fish too, but I really don't like fish.

Does gardening count as killing and preparing vegetables, tubers, and gourds? Cuz I do that, too.

Actually, I am thinking of cutting way down on meat. There is a growing body of evidence in peer reviewed journals that more than about .75 grams of meat is all one really needs, if one needs any at all, and that all the animal protein we eat is causing all kinds of health trouble.

But of course, "if I had to" leaves open just why I would have to. Catastrophic collapse of Agri-business? Lost in the wilderness? Of course I could kill and prepare my own animal flesh in such circumstances - question is, how would I get it to kill it?

I don't eat a whole lot of meat now.....so, I would just do without because I couldn't bring myself to kill and prepare any animal.

Probably not. especially chickens what with all those feathers! I'd try to kill and prepare one big animal, like a cow, so that I'd have plenty of meat to last a while.

I would be very thin. I wouldn't want to kill my food and I don't like veggies. I love fruit...can a person live off of fruit??

Probably more as I would have worked up an appetite doing it, not to mention that it would probably be a good while between meals.
