Which series is better. Personally, I love the Family Guy. I love it when the characters reminisce about certain things, and then it shows it. That is the tops! I still enjoy the Simpsons, but I am just too spoiled with the Family Guy now.

They really, both, are good shows. Family Guy makes you laugh, but The Simpsons make more sense. Matt Groening probably has a disadvantage, because he also made Futurama. Sure, I know, Seth MacFarlane made American Dad, but that borrows too much off of Family Guy's humor.
I'd have to say Family Guy, because it doesn't have to make sense to be funny. I think this show is one of the most original animated comedy of all time, other than Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Family Guy never gets old. C'mon, we've seen all the episodes of The Simpsons dozens of times. Change is good.
Is there anyone to back me up on my decision? You all seem strictly to The Simpsons. They both are great shows, people watch both shows, so people, Stop The CRAZINESS!

Both shows make my Sunday, and while recently Family Guy has made me laugh out loud more and is more quotable, its already on a slide and its only year 5 (or 6, I lost track) while simpsons didn't reach that until around year 16. I do love the new focus on Brian and cynical stewie instead of world domination stewie. They have gtreat chemistry. Also, living in Rhode Island, there are some slightly inside jokes which are a nice addition. Nontheless, the prime of the Simpsons, around season 4-9, was far better than Family Guy. And the Simpsons can slip in more subtle humor that is hilarious.

Just to let you know, FAMILY GUY GOT CANCELED! The Simpsons been around for almost 20 years, got sucessful video games, a highly anticipatied movie in 2007, great DVD sales, and saved the Fox Network from being 'canceled' like the WB. Family Guy was brought back because Fox needed another cartoon show, and its video game SUCKED!!

I perfer the Simpsons, they had a few bad years there, but I still prefer it to Family Guy. Family Guy is just too stupid for me.

The Simpsons are cooler
They're legendary! not just Homer, but bart, Apu, Moe The Comic book guy, the fat officer dude, that show is awesome
Family Guy is just a fad for now

Both of them. They're both funny. But, Family Guy is on opposite of Desperate Housewives, and that cause a conflict of the Sunday night time slots.
