Yes, when I was between 3 and 5 years old. After that I started checking to make sure my brother hadn't left the seat up.

No, but I have sat down on the cold porcelain when my husband left the seat up..in the middle of the night with no light but from the nitelite.

Yep. Usually in the middle of the night. Also, the lid should be put down before flushing to control the spread of germs.
