I suspect you already know the answer to your question yourself but are either afraid or not quite yet ready to admit this to yourself.

I don't have a great answer for you but you might try this. Sit down quietly alone with two large pieces of paper. At the top label one STRAIGHT and the other GAY. Draw a vertical line down the center of each page. On the left side of the line write down everything you can think of that you like and are attracted to for both GAY and STRAIGHT. On the right side write everything that turns you off about Gay and STRAIGHT. Now get another piece of paper and draw vertical line down center. Label it SHARED LIKES & DISLIKES. On one side of vertical line write all the shared likes, on the other all the shared dislikes. Now you are ready to start analyzing those 3 pages. You will be in a much better position of knowing what you really do and do not want in a lover.

Let's be honest here. This will take some time and effort. And lots of thought and feeling. But it will be worth it. Good luck.

It's pretty normal for fantasy desires to be strongest for something that's unattainable. Straight women often say, "why are all the cute guys gay?". There's a common proverb about this: the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

The way to get over this hump is to treat fantasy as fantasy and reality as reality. In the end, reality is much more satisfying and, well, real.

Ah. I see the problem. Stop trying to get "over the hump", for you belong "under the hump". Perhaps you can get together with the many women who only fall for gay guys, and you can arrange an exchange.

Well, I'm not gay, but I can understand how you feel. I had a friend the same way back in college. I found out because he had a crush on me! Though I was flattered (and even honored in a way), I had to let him down. I actually felt bad about it too. he was a really nice guy and was a good friend for years.
I'm not sure how he got through it, but he once told me that although he was gay, he was not attracted to 'gay acting' men, only straight acting gay men.
I know its tough, but keep your head up (no pun intended), stay positive and keep your options open!

Without knowing you I would say you fall for these guys because they are safe and unobtainable. It helps you avoid any question of being intimate. Being very careful as any fetish can become a necessary habit, I would check out military guys on gay sites (dress up) until I had satisfied all "Curiosity" for that fetish.

there nothing wrong for falling for straight guys. Im not gay or a lesbian or anything like that but I still think you think about my answer. and i also think you should wait for someone instead falling for them. They will come someday.

Go to gay bars or take an ad in the news paper, as stupid as the newspaper part sounds it might just work

See a psychiatrist or psychologist, or a clergyman if you are stuck for cash, but discourage the latter from giving you a religious solution.

you are doing it to your self. Learn to believe that you can have what you want instead of believing that you only want what you can't have. I know that takes a little math to figure out but it makes sense.

It's who you are attracted to. Guys who are not known to be gay. There are gay guys who look very straight, you just need to find them.
