I agree with Millennium...they are BS that just eat up your bandwidth and plug up your logs....nothing ever comes from them in the form of sales...trust me, nothing.

They're free for a reason. IN FACT, you might get punished by associating yourself with the likes of the people who use these nightmare FFA (Free For All) sites. I have tested all this stuff and I can tell you that ALL the ones I have tested do NOT work even a little. Try using a low fee pay per click or PRWeb.com. Spend a little money and test legitimate professional services. Business.com has a great pay per click portal.

Sure.... of course hits to your website are worthless, but knock yourself out.
Putting an ad on national TV may be seen by millions... but if the people seeing it aren't interested in what the ad is for, then it's probably not worth much.
If this is traffic exchange by exchanging links on other sites, then it may only be valuable if the visitors to the other sites would be interested in what your site is for, which means you will probably need to find sites that are related. And they are probably sites that have low traffic themselves... the reason they are in the exchange to begin with. You are probably better off focusing efforts on creating valuable content for your site that people would be interested in and SEs would serve up in results.

You gte hits but the people looking at thmem are more interested in getting hits to their own web sites. You might get 1 good lead every 1000 hits so they are not the most effective. Emails to qualified opt in lists are the most effective.
So, if you start clicking all day, your business will not succeed. It doesn't hurt to do it a half hour each day.

I use 2 free traffic exchanges exclusively and they have provided quality visitors to my site.
Do they take up some bandwidth? Yes.
Do they work? Yes, if you work them. I surf them each at least 1/2 an hour a day and average at couple of quality visitors that sign into my program. I get their email and name and have it to continue advertising my programs to them.
Another thing that works is free classified advertising.

No. If they come by way of free exchanged links then you will hurt your standing with the Search Engines, as well.
Organic design with original content is the best long-term plan you can use.
