Your PE teacher should take some simple biology classes before she (I assume it's a she) passes out such false information.

Growth rates and patterns differ for most people. But I continued height growth till I was 18 and body structure changes until I was 22 or 23.

TRUST ME WHEN I SAY, YOU DO NOT STOP GROWING WHEN YOUR PERIOD STARTS. THAT IS RIDICULOUS.

When you remain at the same height and general size for a couple of years, you can assume that you have stopped growing.

None of them are right. Everyone stops growing when they're through growing. It's different for everyone. Sometimes a person will seem to have stopped growing, and then have another "spurt" of growth a couple years later, and add an inch or so to her height.

Thats silly. You don't stop growing after you have your period, it just slows down, where previously you were growing like a weed beacuse you were little, no it slows down and you start growing more "out" the "up". But generally women stop growing and hit full adult size in her early 20's

I've never heard of that period + x amount of years theory, but I'm in my early 20s and I'm still growing so it can't be that true. It depends on your genetics. My dad said his sisters didn't stop growing until they reached their mid 20s. Other people hit their growth spurt much earlier and stop earlier. It just depends.

you will probably stop growing by your late teens, but some girls grow most in middle school and then only a little in high school and some girls have a later growth spurt. it has nothing to do with when you have your period or an exact age.
