I lived in England some years back, and to be honest most British people don't know a thing about the US. They only know what is on television. They probably know as much about us as we do about them. They have no idea how big the United States is. Remember in England you can drive across the entire country in a few hours. Great Britian is about the size of Indiana. They think of us, they see John Wayne, we think of them we see Benny Hill.

This kid form from Africa said that most people think there we're cool. Which is weird cuz i thought they all just hated us but wutever why should anyone care what somemone in another country thinks of you?Who's really that self-conscious to worry about people that truly know nothing about you. Americans stereotype people in other countries too so it really goes both ways.

So what. If we were asked to act like a Brit we would probably sniff and ask for tea or do some silly Monty Python thing.

Sorry to say, I can not suddenly turn into a fat 30 stone slob that eats out of a paper carton and drags my nuckles on the floor.

Americans? They drive on the wrong side of the road.

it's rude stereotyping. no matter how it's said, jokes like that will always offend somebody. if we all could let go of our pre-concieved judgments, stereotyping and racism would end.

Oh...we have stereotypes of Brits as well. They are not all either cockney or posh. But that's how we usually tag them. ; )
