I don't know if it should be closed down. It sure is generally ineffective and corrupt. I think it was a great concept, but when you have countries that have a poor civil rights record sitting on the Human Rights committees, there's a problem there.

Frankly, the UN HQ should be moved to a place other than Manhattan.. prime real estate is wasted on them.

I think our world is far different today and an alternative would be just as ineffective.

The U.N. can close down if it wants to, but we don't have to do it. The important thing is that the U.S. withdraws from the U.N., that the U.N. moves its building out of the U.S., and that the U.S. form its own union with the peace- and democracy-loving countries of the world. The U.N. may then collapse under its own weight. Why sit down at the table to compromise with a bloody dictator? What have we gain from them? Only their empty promises not to attack the democracies of the world; that's all they have to offer. So the U.N. only gives those bloody dictators an elevated stature on the world stage.

Yes it should be closed down.
No alternative is needed since it serves no useful purpose.

I think the concept they had was good in the beginning and is the only way to control things globally but corruption is too major in a group like that. Its sad it didnt work but no doubt it is a total disaster.

As I said in your previous question (or probably your next question) concerning NATO, I don't think that it should be destroyed. I think it should at least be reformed, if not rebuilt from the ground up.

It is unnecessary. Now we have the internet to hear how much people hate us. We don't have to call meetings to find it out.
