actually we should have the 4 saints holidays as bank holidays. Compared to america and other european countries we have one of the lowest number of non-working holidays in a year.

Well, here in Northern Ireland we get 3 extra bank holidays on top of the English 8 bank holidays. We also get 17 March (St Patrick's Day) and 12 & 13 July (the peak of the Orange Order marching season).

However an extra day would be very welcome, but what date would you choose? The UK/Great Britain doesn't have a patron saint per se, so you'd have to find a suitable one.

I vote for 7 August as that's my birthday!!

The whole Island of Ireland has a bank holiday on St Patrick's day. The scots are fudging to get employers to make St Andrew's Day an alternative bank holiday and of course the good old English with 50 million of a population do nothing to further the cause!

You just know the Scots will start a fight again.

Everytime they get together with the Welsh somebody mentions Footballs better than Rugby and it all kicks off.

Britian doesn't "have" Ireland - it has Northern Ireland.
