I find that I'm getting to work later and later. Any strategies for getting out of the house on time or early? I wake up and I don't want to move. I take the bus and various stops are close enough to my house. Another factor is motivation. How do I get motivated (thinking about rent and bills doesn't seem to be enough)?

Sounds like a career change is in order. If you cant get motivated, it generally means that you are bored with job and have no initative in wanting to improve. Tardiness will surely get you fired. Maybe you want to be fired. Start looking at yourself and what you enjoy. Start asking yourself if what you are doing fulfills these needs. Maybe look at going back to school. Thinking about bills that have to be paid kills motivation because it is a bummer way to start the day. If you really like your job, start the day with music that ups your mood. Sing in the shower. Do some exercises. Get up earlier if you have to to take a shower, exercise, listen to good music and enjoy a good cup of coffee. Last minute shuffles off to work and thinking about bills is definately not incentive.

Do you like what you are doing at work? To me when I feel that way in the morning it is a signal that I don't like what I'm doing and it's time to change. Of course I only give notice at the job I don't like when I have first secured another job that I hopefully will like better. Do you stay up too late? Do you drink alcohol before retiring to bed...it will ensure that you don't get a good night's rest. Good luck! By the way, if you get into late payments on bills or rent, it will come back to haunt you once you really start living so please be careful...take it from someone who knows. Life is so much easier, more fun, more rewarding if you take the right way rather than the wrong way if you know what I mean. I wish you the very best.

Apparently you're not getting enough sleep at night. Try to remedy that first. Get some exercise, eat a healthy diet, go easy on the alcohol, & try to get to bed at a decent hour. If you still have trouble sleeping, see a doctor. As a temporary solution, set your alarm clock at least a half hour earlier than it is now. For motivation, you might need a new job. I'm guessing you're not happy in your current one.

may answer isn't as deep as theirs, but it seems to work for me. no matter what time i go to sleep, i can't wake up early....even though i like my job and enjoyed my classes. I had my friend set my clock forward for me, so i wouldn't know exactly home many minutes it was set to keep me from cheating. it's a small suggestion, but it has helped me. good luck ;)
