You might want to look up something called the golden ratio. It is a ratio found in nature between all sorts of things. And one of those things is the location of the belly button. Maybe that will tell you, since it's about middle of the road.

Also, legs looks longer/shorter in comparision to the torso. My legs look longer because my back is curved thus making my torso a bit shorter.

Is why they make pants legs anywhere from a 26 to a 38 inch length. Not too minute!
