Wright has only been around a couple full years but I'd have to give him the nod. Beltran's 2006 was excellent but the only catagory that he topped Wright was HR's. That is only one season but if you take the full body of work for both players it is hard to determine as Beltran has played many more games that Wright. Another knock on Beltran is the injuries. I don't fault him because the way he plays is hard on a guy's body. David Wright looks to project better numbers over a career than Beltran. The fact that he plays an amazing 3B and that is arguably a tougher position than CF is another reason that I'd go with him.

I think u can't really compare the two right now 'cause David isn't even in his prime yet. Carlos, on the other hand, is a lot more experienced and he has matured as a player so of course he plays better. So I go with Carlos (at least for now). But David is an immensely talented player, though. Give the guy a few years and there's absolutely no doubt that he'll be a major superstar.

Beltran. David Wright had a hell of a year, but put up nothing in te playoffs? Beltran is WAY better no doubt.

As of right now Beltran. Give Wright a few years and he will become a superstar. Wright has the moxie for the New York market and should be in the status of Derek Jeter in a few years.

Well, it's kinda hard to compare them when they play different positions, but I'd say Beltran now and Wright in the future.

who cares..they play for the Mets!!

Plus david wright won't be with the mets too long. Omar is trying to get rid of the last two starting 8 (not including the pitcher) who is not hispanic. Lo Duca is next and then Wright.

if i had to choose for right now it would be Beltran but if i had to pick one for the next 5 or 6 years, i'd take wright..wright has great numbers and he's not even in his prime yet..imagine him in his prime!!
