I agree with Statik; some pdf files just can not be edited. You can try Foxit Reader which has a feature to edit a pdf file. The download link is http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,62648-order,1-page,1-c,alldownloads/description.html

Foxit Reader Description:

Adobe Reader isn't your only option for viewing PDF files. Foxit Reader is a free utility that includes some tools that Adobe lacks, including a "typewriter" tool that lets you type text over any PDF, not just files that have been set with form fields.
We found that Foxit launches very quickly (in about one second) and it requires no installation--you just run the executable file. It allows you open, view, print, and change the page layout in PDF files. For some functions, such as the typewriter function, FoxIt Reader shows an ad for FoxIt Reader Pro. However, these functions still work with minor limitations.

In our experience, when it comes to viewing PDF files, Foxit Reader beats Adobe Reader hands-down.

A PDF is an Adobe Acrobat file. You can view these files with Adobe Acrobat.

Think of PDF files and digital print-outs. You cannot add/edit them without either having the Professional version of Adobe Acrobat installed (very expensive) or some other PDF editing software. You cannot amend a PDF without these applications otherwise.

Hi you can convert your pdf doc into a word doc but you may lose some of the formatting, i suggest you get a copy of Adobe Acrobat pro, and not the reader You can purchase this from the adobe web site or you will be able to download an illegal copy from a torrent site such as bitcomet.com or limewire.

The author of the PDF has to set it up to be able to be filled in by computer. Some times you just have to print them out and fill them in by hand. Print neatly.
