Disconnect battery pos. side for 1 minute. If it don't go away then you have a sensor/switch,etc bad that the computer is bypassing so you can still drive car. Some newer cars need a scan tool to reset but I think you're OK

Disconnect your battery for 15 seconds or more. Reseting the light will not fix the problem, though. It's on for a reason. Most problems that will set a light will affect gas mileage. At today's prices, it's at least worth having it checked out. Some parts stores will check it for free. I routinely check them for free for regular customers. You will pay for it, either at a shop or at the pump.

I dunno about disconecting batteries or anything, but what i do know is if you go to your local autozone you can borrow a engine code tool that you plug in to a connector which is under your dash on the driver side. You plug it in, turn it on, and it'll show you what is causing the light to come on, and after it gives you those codes, you have the option to turn them off (reset them) and your light will turn off the next time you turn on your car. Good luck. any questions, just ask your local auto parts store most of them will let you borrow the tool free of charge if you bring the car there.

if you fixed the problem that the code on your computer said was causing the problem, then who ever fixed it should have reset it. if its still coming on then there is other problems you might want to address. i just let mine come on and off and don't worry about it.
