how do i stop every page i open on internet explorer from having duplicate?

Every page I open on the internet seems to pop open an identical page at the same time. Its irritating and I want to know why it happens and how to stop it. I did a virus scan and it came up clear. help please.

You might have double clicked on the icons....!
