Do I define myself
By the color of my hair?
By the things I say?
By the clothes I wear?
When I look at the mirror,
Do I see a friend?
Or an empty soul
With deeds to mend?
Do I strip others
Of their dignity?
Am I a person
Who conveys integrity?
Do I hide my insecurity
Behind a wall of defiance?
Can I risk being myself
By showing self- reliance?
Do I really know who I am
Or the ideals for which I stand?
Am I the person I reflect--
Or is my image just a sham?
