While I think the government could solve the debt problem by legalizing it, I think the only way to get it legalized would be for medicinal use- I have a friend of the family dying of cancer- pills don't work, she can't eat. etc. Nothing works so her husband went out to buy some pot- now these are older people who never do anything illegal- but her husband wants her to be happy and not nauseous in her left few months. And is is working great for her!
Oh, something I want to add- everyone always gets hyped up about Amsterdam nug- it sucks over there. The taste is good, but it is way too weak for the price.

I have met at least 3 people who I would rate as being close to genious, but they had marijuana in common, and one other thing, not an ounce of commonsense.
marijuana for medication is an absolute must. it can either stop, or at the very least, control any type of pain. it is amazing in that area, a so-called miracle drug if you will.
it should never be street legal, because it would be an unstoppable flood comparable to cigarettes, and we would find just how bad marijuana can be in our systems if so many more were using it.
I tried it. I didn't like it a bit. actually, this 'getting high' is very overrated in my opinion. I don't like to be out of my own control one little bit and I know I'm not alone.
I have also known two people dealing with severe pain whose lives were ever more peaceful when they found some grass to back up whatever else they had to take

You should first read the short history of the marijuana laws to understand why it was outlawed in the first place. See http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/History/whiteb1.htm It is quite funny and fascinating.
Every major government study of the subject around the world over the last 100 years has concluded that the marijuana laws were the product of racism, ignorance, and nonsense, and that the marijuana laws should have been repealed long ago. You can read them all at http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer under Major Studies of Drugs and Drug Policy.

In reality if you combined alcohol and cigarettes you would have essentially have marijuana. Ironically the only way I foresee winning the War on Drugs is to legalize them. I mean who would want to buy weed or cocaine from Colombian drug lords when you could get it 7-11.

Ok, you don't know anything about it. Yeah, it should be legalized for personal use but it's not going to happen anytime soon because the best buds aren't grown here. The Government will have to import Marijuana from other countries which wouldn't let them profit off of it. It's not like cigarettes because it's not addicting (not proven to be, anyway.) Just smoke and enjoy it. If you don't get caught, everything's legal.

I agree. It is also safer than cigarettes or alcohol. I know some on here will disagree but I know better just like a lot of people do.
Personal experience.

definately legal. the only way you can get addicted to it is if you have an addictive personality, and you get addicted to the high, but people with addictive personalities get addicted to alcohol too, and thats not illegal, is it?
besides, cigarettes are just nasty. theyve got tar and rat poison in them, among other things....
marijuana is way better, and should be legal. ive never smoked a joint, and i know its gotta be easier to smoke than a cigarette...

i agree 101.99%. We should get it on the ballot and have a right to vote it in. But the gov't is making money now keeping it illeagle. the drug dealers would be out of business in 2 weeks.

The problem would come from those that can harm others while driving or doing any job that involved the lives of others.
