I've hired a handyman in Los Angeles at a price of $50/hour. This seems reasonable to me, as it is less that you'd pay for a plumber.

Does anyone else have experience with a very good handyman in Southern California? How much have you paid?

Dang!!!! I guess that good. I just charge by the job. Most times I know what wrong from what they tell me on the phone. People that work, usually I charge around $20 hour on an average, I guess, I know how long it will take. Old retired people on a fixed income, I may get a Pecan/Apple Pie. Sometimes if it a real hard job I will charge an old woman a Kiss and a Hug. Maybe I not charge enough! Ha! Next time I charge a pie, kiss and hug. Need to go up on my rates. ;-)
Oh, that in Arkansas.

Depending on your area you should find a good one anywhere in the $20 to $35 per hour range. Ask your friends and neighbors. Word of mouth is best.

50 an hour in Southern CA is good, but ask how many hours it will take first, ohh ask a plumber too, so the handy man dose not drag it out for 2 or 3 hours.
