i always divert the criticizm/conversation to their shortcoming ...and then they start defending it...

now its all about them and not about me...

it has always worked for me

If the remark was made by someone who is insignificant in your life just ignore it. No point being offended. If it was someone important then ask them why they made the remark. It does leave you perturbed for a while but then it takes all kinds of people to make the world!

Learn to give it back.

If it is a regular occurence and from the same person then look at how you can give back, what they give to you,

Usually these people: can give it out, but can´t take it back...

Just keep on with the old standby "I know you are, but what am I?" It's old, but very frustrating to the other person who is being sarcastic while letting them know that you don't take them seriously.

I don't really care anymore. Those people who are making the comments are really sad people, it's almost like those people who chat too much or cause trouble, it usually catches up with them eventually.

threaten w/ physical violence. or more sarcasm if your witty enough. a battle nonetheless, of the minds, or of the fist.

all u have to do is ignore it cuz if u do that then they think it dosen't bother u and then they will stop.....i know it is hard just to ignore it but if u do then that will make them stop if that doesn't work then when they start talking to u then just walk away from them
