Are you asking people with mental problems to be more flexible?
In economics: YOU find the MARKET, the market DOES NOT find you.
In psychiatry: Every patient is different. First of all, there is no way to change all your patients so they can fit better into your practice. Second of all, there is no way to resolve all of your patient's problems with one method.
HOWEVER,
If you're talking about schedules and all that, then definitely patient adapts to psychologist. You cannot fit into everyone's schedule, in fact, they must all fit into your schedule.

Most psychologists work within a particular framework, but within those frameworks adapt their practice to suit the needs of the patient. Every patient is different so a good psychologist will not try and treat everyone the same way. Also, psychologists are ethically obliged to not treat patients who exhibit problems which are beyond their areas of expertise. So, for example, if after a first interview, a psychologist suspected you had post-traumatic stress disorder and they did not have training in that area, the psychologist should refer you to someone who has the proper training and experience.

The whole reason why you are going to a psychologist is to change and the psychologist based on his practices and learning's is the person to do it. You need to change and adapt to a healthy lifestyle that the psychologist can help you learn.
