was your previous printer exactly the same make/model? If so you might want to consider re-installing the drivers. They may be corrupt in some way. The drivers are what relay the information to the printer in a way the printer can understand. If your drivers are faulty then your prints will be effected.

if it's a different printer all together, it's a bit more complicated.

make sure the printer cable is connected at both ends securely. again, reinstall the drivers. Check that the ink tanks in the printer are all fitted securely and are not empty.

Great help eh. Hmm Open your contol panel and double click on printers and faxes. See if your printer is listed there and the proper drivers have been installed. It may have the option to print a test page.
If that fails, as you have had this problem with a previous printer I would make sure it has been properly identified by the hardware manager. Go into the hardware manager Start/contol panel/ system/ hardware tab then device manager button. Find your printer and remove / delet it. Restart you PC ( make sure your printer is on)and it should say Found new hardware. Have the driver disk ready in case it asks for it, ONce the PC says you new hardware is ready to use, try it again. ( all of this is assuming your using a version of XP) Best of Luck

Hopefully you have not used the same ink catridges in both printers... maybe blocked nozzles. Does this happen within all applications. Some applications use RGB to screen, but print CMYK in differnt formats. Can file be printed ok on another pc and printer. Check appropriate web site for latest driver.... check cable is undamaged and no bent pins in the connectors.
