I'm confusing myself. Do space or time exist outside of the universe? Is it possible? IS there an outside?

Allright, let me rephrase the question: CAN space and time exist outside of the universe?

Of course time and space exist outside of our universe. We are in a galaxy, and in turn our galaxy is in a galaxy cluster with many more galaxies. Time effects everything, it controls and slows down for nothing. The universe is always expanding, so there is time for it to expand in the first place. Space, everything is taken up by some type of matter, whether dense or energy, it is there.

Space-time is a property of the universe. So far.
These and other questions in cosmology are seemingly beyond the ability of current physics to answer, even though physics people seem to think they are answered. To them, there was no space and no time until the universe came into existence with the big bang.
And there might not have been. However, current theories seem to me to involve infinite regression, and/or really do not explain in any case what this nothing was that everything came from.

Well, yeah that is confusing, but I have thought about it. Time and space basically seem the same. Think about this tho, a star that went supernova millions of years ago may still appear in our night sky. This is because the light hasnt reached us yet. That may help you to form somewhat of an idea. IM me about it. Oh yeah, and the universe doesnt end. So there isnt an outside? Hmmm.

The universe by definition includes everything therefore space and time cannot exist outside the universe, space and time are properties of the universe.

As far as we know, there is no outside of the universe. Space and time need each other in order to exist.

As far as we know, there is no outside.
And since space and time are what make up the dimensional fabric in which the universe exists -- no, they don't exist "outside" of the universe.
There are some ideas about multiverses (that we're one of many universes), up to 11 dimensions of space and time (inherent in string theory), etc. -- but none of these have been proven yet. So as far as we know -- no outside the universe, no space or time outside the universe. :)

What do you mean by no longer something existed until eventually now the huge Bang? Our 4 dimensional universe did no longer exist, yet a bigger 11 dimensional area-time would have existed a l. a. M theory.
