The reason you are seeing the message is because your subscription has expired. You will either have to buy a new license or look for another alternative.

Don't snuff the free solutions off too easily. They can be just as good as the big names.

Norton blows. Use this free list and save yourself the headache:

This is all free and comes highly recommended by IT professionals. I also use all of these programs and THEY WORK.

AVG 7.5 FREE - you can't beat this program. Automated scans and updates. Sweet.

Spybot - works well. not perfect but does a good job. Load, update, immunize and then scan. The 'immunize' will keep the stuff from coming back. And it works great.

ewido (from the the same people as AVG) great at finding the stuff Spybot doesn't. This will scan and wipe out the crap.

HOSTS Secure blocks those annoying ads you see on the sides of websites. Sweet. All you see if a cannot find website box where the ad should be. Doesn't affect surfing.

Download AVG or Avast!. Uninstall Norton and use those free alternatives - they're faster and better at what they do than the big names like Norton/Symantec and McAfee.

I would agree, I have heard Norton is not very good.Avg was very good when I used it, though my free software runs out in January so I don't know if you can still get it free. Try download.com.
