that's pretty complicated. beside deleting browser cache, cookies and history you have to delete the files with the name index.dat in the directories "cookies" and "temporary internet files\content.ie5" in save mode with command prompt.
but that's not all - you also have to clean the registry from all the visited links (URL History) - enjoy your job ;)

An easy way is to go open your internet broswer and click tools at the top, then click internet options. then click delete cookies and delete files. This works provided you do not have a irus on your computer, if you have a virus you will need to get a good anti virus program to remove it.

Good question. You need a new HD. Even total erase and low level reformatting can leave behind traces that over the counter "restore" programs, like Norton's Utilities, can show up.

Now, what have you been doing?

Your hd has to write over the old data.

A forensic computer guy can even get files off of a formatted hd.

Geez, what the hell are you downloading??

If it's child porn, I hope you get busted big time.

There is no way to do without buying special software. I've tried and tried and buying special software is the only way. Window Washer is the best value (see link below for reviews of top sellers). Good Luck (and vote me best as I am in a competition and can really use the points). Thanks a lot.

You can't erase anythiing completely off of your computer. Let's say you look at child porn. You erase everything. There's still proof that you visited there and there's nothing you can do to change that.
