try asking them their name first, this will let them no that u r acknowledging them. then say you like maybe an item of clothing or something like that. i made my best friend in kindergarten from bonding over boogers!! this weird little kid was picking his nose and we were both were like ewwwwwww!(u know how it is) and she asked me if i wanted to be her friend and i said yes. we have been friends for 7 years now!
