What I mean is if the person is constantly thinking about killing themselves but they just don't try can there be "a straw that broke the camels back" and they really do it?

That mother in Texas who drowned her 5 children was dx w/ suicidal Idealation. Women attempt suicide, but men are more successful. Society doesn't know the #'s because the family hides cause of death. Family members are known to kill themselves on an anniversary of one person in their family who did it. If you want them to die then don't do anything. Maybe give them a reason to live.

Your question does not cover all of the possibilities.

If it's just a matter of time before they commit suicide, then there wouldn't be cases where people were saved from suicide and never thought of the like again.

If they kept on thinking about it, then we wouldn't have such a thing as suicide rates.

It's somewhere in between depending on the case.

Well I'm only speaking about my 1 experience, but when I got divorced my ex husband would call every other night saying tell my daughter I love her but I can't take life anymore so goodbye.Every time he did that I would call the Police(because God forbid he did I could not live with the fact that I did nothing) but after10 times my mom suggested something because she said he'd never do it & she was right. The next time he did this I said well please make sure you have your life insurance in our daughters name so you can do something for her in death & then God might forgive you for being a shitty father. He never threatened suicide again & 10 years later he's still alive

I think it all depends on the age of the person, and if they are depressed as well. people go through different feelings through their life and what seems really important today is very silly the next.
