These guys are certainly in the top 10 for the Race for MVP, but this time I gotta choose between Kobe or Lebron. Carmelo and Wade barely play defense, and although they showed that they could carry a team, their team still pretty much have mediocre records. Heat and the Nuggets aren't exactly Finals-material without Shaq and K-Mart.

It's just hard to choose between Kobe and Lebron. Both have excellent skills. Kobe has the advantage of being a better defensive player; he has been in the all-defensive team about 5 times. Only disadvantage is he takes bad shots sometimes, thus the term "ballhog", and does not really have the attitude of a role model (Shades at a press conference? Not exactly what you want from an MVP). Lebron, on the other hand, can hit long-range jumpshots and dunk over the likes of Duncan, has that point guard mentality which just makes his teammates much better. His only drawback is defense; sure he could deny some shots some time but in terms of defensive intensity he isn't really defensive type material. But as of now, Im gonna pick Kobe, because of those 3 rings, the 81-pt. game, and that 52 pts. he had against Utah, including the 9-of-9 FG and 10-of-10 FT shooting in the 30-pt. third quarter (2nd largest points scored in a quarter). And the Lakers have that slight advantage in the record books over the Cavs right now.

Even though I am a BIG Kobe fan, when it comes down to it, I have to say that Dwane Wade is the best player out of the list above. He proved that by being a major player last year and assisting his team in winning the Finals. The true measure of a great player is one that realizes that he can't do it all by himself!

Dwane is definately not the best player right now...because, he has plenty of talent on the offensive side, but he sucks at defense...I've heard enough about Wade...I think Kobe is the best player in NBA right now!

I'd say Kobe is the best because he has the better jump shot, handle, and defense. He has won a ton of games with his jumper and tied the 30pt for a quater franchise record with the new NBA Ball. Not only that but he did it coming off surgery. Wade is pretty close but I don't think his jumper is as good and can score in as many different ways. The main thing that makes Kobe the best if you notice is he mastered most of Jordan's moves most importantly his turn around jumper.

If you want offense, it's hard to argue with Kobe Bryant or Dwayne Wade...If you want defense, Shaq is still the king right now...LeBron still hasn't shown me anything except he can dunk...and I'm sick of the people who are comparing LeBron to Michael Jordan...

There is no comparison...Championships: Jordan 7, James 0...Jordan leads by a touchdown...all by himself...Michael Jordan is and always will be the BEST NBA PLAYER EVER...I'm a Celtics fan, and I don't think any one person ever won that many championships even in the glory years of Red Auerbach...I'll have to check on Bill Russell...Talk to me about James being as good as Jordan if and ONLY if James can say he won 7 championships at the end of his career...enough said...

I'd say Kobe or Dwane, they are more complete than the other 2

the only players in that list that have won championships are kobe and dwayne. that elimiates melo and 'bron. of the two players kobe has 3 and dwayne has 1. so my pick is .... KOBE!!!
he has proven more that he is the best player in the NBA.kobe can do anything.he plays defense which "flash" still has to prove he can. he's the better 3-point shooter. and as far as it doing to the rimm , it's a tie. and in the final seconds if my team is losing by one, i would take kobe over anyone else. and he is only 28. he can pla for at least 3 more years

Gotta be Mr. Fundamental. Dunc gets double-doubles every night and would have a higher ppg avg if he played for a lousy team that he had to carry. However, he plays for the Spurs so he doesn't need to play practically 48 minutes like Kobe. Duncan's gonna have a career season.

At this point and time, Kobe followed by Lebron, Dwayne, and Mello. I'm not a big Kobe fan but he has tons of talent and he finally realizes he has teammates!!!
