Ohh, Groudon. Legendary creator of the land, and a very difficult pokémon to beat.

Groudon's weaknesses lie in the special defence area. Groudon is a Ground-type pokémon, but any sort of engagement is risky. Water-type pokémon are weakened due to its drought ability whlie Ice and Grass types are threatened by a potential Fire attack, though I didn't see one when I fought Groudon. If you have types that are neutral to Groudon, but have moves that are super-effective against it, you'll be in with a better chance.

A lot of it depends on your starter. Like I said before, grass types are at risk from a Fire attack while water-types are weakened by drought. If you started with Machop, you can take advantage of its traits. Groudon is the heaviest known Pokémon, so it will take immense damage from low kick, which gains power if the foe is heavy. If you started with a fire pokémon though, you're in for a difficult battle, as its ground attacks will likely KO you in one hit.

What you can do is use its ability to your advantage. Pokémon such as Oddish or Seedot get a speed boost from its drought ability, and can land a serious hit with a grass attack before it gets a chance to attack them. Or even better in the case of Oddish, put it to sleep. Once it's asleep, you can feel free to pound it with everything you've got and put it back to sleep if necessary.

Lastly, don't underestimate your items. As a previous person said, throwing projectiles such as gravelrocks and Iron throns can weaken Groudon from a distance. Let it come to you rather than you go to it. Also, ensure that you have plenty of reviver seeds. They are invaluable against foes such as Groudon.

Oh, guy! What a puzzling question. i change into able to respond to with Ninetales... yet there are even better which have grown on me because. I nonetheless love Ninetales. yet Eevee and Squirtle are fairly incredible, too. and that i'm prepared on Gardevoir and Flareon, and Milotic. i have mystery red so i can help if u have any sticks or iron thorns or silver spikes, & gravelrocks throw them at groudon it takes a few hits 2 beat groudon use your moves also. good luck :)
