Go to your control panel and click on "Sounds and Audio Devices"

Click advanced in the Device Volume area.

Go to "options" in the toolbar

Click properties and select the "Recording" radio button. Make sure "Microphone is checked below.

Turn up the volume slider of the microphone. Click "Advanced" for the microphone and you may be able to check "Microphone boost" to give you a +20dB boost in volume. You may have to balance these two settings as you can go too loud too.

Hope this helps.

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Volume Control

In here you should see "Microphone" as one of the columns... if you don't, then select Options > Properties and select "Microphone" from the list.

This would then include the microphone in the window and you can slide the volume control for it to your liking.
