I think very good, just not this next election. The choices just don't fly.

I would like to see how anyone stands up during the campaign and debate process before I consider ever voting for anyone. If a woman has the right stuff and I agree with her on the issues, she has my vote.

One of the basic issues facing all candidates seeking the office of President of the U.S. is the very vital issue of national and domestic security. Especially in the post 9-11 era.

But, to answer the question, I would definitely not vote for a woman just on the basis of her being a woman and being rewarded with the office of President of the United States for service in some other elective office.

Let the candidates announce their position and let the campaign toward '08 begin!

My guess is 25%. While it seems somewhat unlikely that America would choose a woman to be the commander in chief of our armed forces and the most powerful man in the world, many voters will vote for whoever is running against the republican candidate, This person could be Hillary, because she is the front runner, and many republicans will register as democrats and vote for her in the primaries, hoping that the democrats will wind up with an un-electable candidate, like they did with Kerry. Therefore in 2008 a woman winning an election is not as unlikely as it seems.

Excellent, if one of the parties would come up with a woman candidate who the people believe would make a good president.
Anybody who would vote for a woman just because she's a woman, is koo-koo.
Other countries have had women at the head of government. Most were very good.
I'll vote for the one who I believe is the most intelligent, the cleverest diplomat, the shrewdest international bargainer. Male or female, makes no difference.

I really see nothing wrong with voting a woman into the position of President, just so long as the putting her there is not like putting Nancy Palousi into the Speaker position was. She was put there mainly because there had never been a woman there before.

If a woman president is voted in for that reason, that would be wrong, but if she is voted in because she is the best one for the job, then that would be great. I see nothing wrong with it.....and it will happen someday.

Good. It is just a matter of time. It's not that we "fear" a woman President, it's just that it hasn't happened yet. Hilary Clinton is definitely a favorite. I just hope people don't vote a woman into President because she's a woman. I hope they vote her into Presidency because they like her views and ideas.

The chances are that at some point in the future, we will have
a female President. And that is fine by me.

Right now however there aren't any women worth voting for on either side.

"Ever"? Pretty good chance at that. "Ever" is a long time.

Soon? Not a chance, not with Hillary. If there was actually a strong candidate who was seen as a big-tent unifier, which Mrs. Clinton is not, then maybe, yeah. I wonder what Geraldine Ferraro's advice would be.

Very good at present. We'll know the answer, with great certainty in 2008, when it is widely expected that Hillary Clinton will run on the Democratic ticket.

If Hillary Clinton is the best we can do, then we should not have a woman President.
