How do you take in something and make it smaller?

if ur a kid, no one cares. if the other little kids say something, just snitch, cause no one is really gonna care.

if your a teenager then tell her to bye a new one, and this time you go with her and pick it out yourself so she doesn't pick it.

if ur a grownup then its almost winter, so just wear the thing!

A coat is a tailored item of clothing and taking it in will depend on the style. If you have a simple box shaped coat, it will be easier but you need to re-shape the coat also keeping in mind the shoulders, armholes and some more to balance the coat off. A more detailed coat (lots of panel, etc.) will require a professional's work.

Again, if the coat is new and there is a return policy in effect, take it back and exchange it for something more flattering period.

a coat is ususally too bulky to take in without cutting it up if its made of wool or some other heavy material. You want it to hang right. Your best bet is to take it to a professional tailor who will be able to answer your question.
