For movies using already-existing music, I'd say a toss-up between Big Chill and Pulp Fiction.
And for musicals, West Side Story. The amazing combination of Sondheim's words and Bernstein's music makes perfection.

The Beautiful Girls soundtrack. It has an awesome cover of the Barry White single Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe by the Afghan Whigs. It is a great movie and CD. SOme rock and some R&B.

People can hate on Jack Black and Tenacious D all they want. They're just denying to themselves that Jack Black is actually funny and the D make you laugh and rock your socks off at the same time.
