I have a tendency to wander off any topic when I am talking to someone and taking up more of the other person's time than I need to. How can I be more direct without being rude?

get a paper with the subject matter and stick to it.. stick to the matter idle bantering is what ya do so .. be strong pretend your the president dont say or volunteer any more than what it this point.. pretend your heading up a report as a company leader be professional and think of that professional speaking.. and take a course in public speaking as well.
