It's part of Murphy's Law, which is just a corollary of the all pervasive 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. We're all on the irreversible trend toward disorder in the univers. Oh there's temporary successes against entropy from time to time, but in the end, all our accomplishments will be for naught.

some times it is and that is called a challenge, but we are destined to temptation, besides "conscience" is looked at differently according to your religion and culture, and may be what we call "conscience" is a built up of society and education

actually in my opinion, it's the other way around, - that's when your conscience kicks in, when you need it the most, most people ignore it, and submit to temptation or their curiosity
