Mad World. The most popular new version was Gary Jules (2003). The original, eerie version was written recorded and released by Tears For Fears in 1982. It reached number 3 on the UK Singles chart, and was included on The Hurting, TFF's 1983 album.

Everyone is right, originally it was Tears for Fears then covered by Gary Jules. Its on the soundtrack of Donnie Darko if you're looking for it and was released as a single for Christmas about 3 years ago I think. It is beautiful.
