One of the biggest reasons for paperwork is, "we've always done it that way."

At one company, we produced a 10,000 page report everyday. After checking about, we found most people didn't read the entire report (like surprise?). Only checked the front page for the overview and the last page for the summary. When we tried to kill it, one person came screaming. It was the guy who collected the old reports at the end of the day and sold the waste paper.

Questioning the "paper work" is a good idea. Don't do it as complaining, but rather find a cost saving or productivity angle. Find a better way to produce the same information with less effort. Even when the reporting is a government requirement, on occasion, the governent will listen to suggestions.

Good Luck

Every job has paper work. Even a cashier at McDonald's has a shift report.

Reports and paperwork are a way to organize, track, and record transactions in a business. These reports can be for cash control, governmental and tax reasons, requisitioning material, and my favorite saying seen in the bathroom. "The job is never done, till the papwework is finished."

That's because your tennis complex still uses primitive methods of registering information! Ask your boss if you could record details on the computer instead. There's alot more advantages in keeping information in soft copy - easy to duplicate and store.
