Is it fair??? Yes it is.

Lets ask the kids...
Hey kids, do you want daddy to pay us some money so you can eat, wear clothes and have a home? Well, he doesn't think it is fair that you have all that stuff. Maybe he'd like us to live in boxes on the street, and eat out of dumpsters.

Pay the money!

I have read many articles about fathers and child support and a large group of fathers have no problem with send money that is spent on the child. What problems arise is when the father believe the money he is sending isn't be sent on the child but instead on the ex-wife. I've ticked off a few of my wife's friends when I here them talk about going on a spending spree because the ex's child support check has just arrived. I always point out that the money is for the child not their new shoes/clothes/hair cut or whatever. Then I point out if they would just put that money an separate bank acct for for their child they may even manage to save up money for college. However, what I have seen is this one women spent all video games so the kid will have something to do while she dates a man the child hates. In truth if I ever divorce I would fight for full custody of my children because I know I a better parent and that their needs would be taken care of and any child would be spent on my children.

How long before he lost his license because of not paying child support did ol' deadbeat dad become informed of this law? It is more than obvious that he knew what the consequences would be if he continued to fail what the courts had ordered him to do, yet he feels he has the right to claim he is being mistreated when the system does what it says it was going to? He failed to pay the child support when he had his driver's license in the first place, so why in the world would allowing him to have it back make any difference? So therefore I say to him, too darned bad for you--you will be getting absolutely no sympathy from me. The good Lord gave him two legs, he can walk himself to and from work.

This is a touchy issue, isn't it.

There were so many fathers running from paying the support. The government had to come up with something, but the lisence is one of the worst ones yet I think!

The government even found out that taking the fathers or mothers income taxes, would also help witht the support. This one did work well, but so many now hide and seek in jobs that pay under the table!!

IF your liscence has been taken away because of child support..........what is your solution to the runners?? I'd love to hear your answer.

I know it kind of sucks when you are put in a position like that. They want to put you in jail for not paying it, how do you pay if you are in jail. But you should be paying it and then you dont have to worry about anything like that happening. Just think who ever is taking care of the baby has to pay for stuff and has to take care of the baby. I feel for both sides.

I'm against the whole licence suspension thing. My husbands licence has been suspended due to not paying child support for our own daughter (we were seperated and I was on county aide) but we've been together for 1 ty straight and is having to go thriugh a big process to get them back. it's stupid they want people to pay but make it harder to get to work to actually get the money to pay.

Was it fair that you didn't pay the child support?

Of course it's fair.

Taking your license would keep you from using your own car.

You are forced to use other means and not "waste" money on car insurance, gas, and registration.

if you can prove that you are going to work so you can pay child support, they will give you your license back. but you must make arrangements, and keep up your end of the bargain and they might reduce your payments.
