should we get rid of coins?

i always thought coins were a waste of time i never use coinns and always pay with paper money and arn't they more expensive to make than than there value It is so annoying getting change having to put it away why don't we just use paper and coins always struvk me as dirrty and gave my skin aweird feeling

i don't like paper money that much either realise it is drtier but it wouldn't do me much good to only carry coins also that mark of the beast thing i read abook about that it was kind of what got me thinking about it in the first place though i'm not for having everybody marked it just made me think about how much i don't like using cash and coins

I have already gotten rid of my "coins". I use a bank that has a program called "keep the change", and now I use my debit card for everything. The "change" goes into my savings.

Unfortunately, coinage is collectable. The fact that the US has been coming out with many new coins means the coin will not leave us any time soon. Every coin "collected" is taken out of circulation, and therefore the Gov't does not have to make good on the amount. By that, I mean, they know they will never have to back up the amount that is being "collected" with actual money.

I used to be a coin carrier. I tried to pay for every purchase with the exact amount. But now I'm just happy to see my savings get a little bigger each month, and I don't have to pull the lint from my pockets with the change.

And yes the change to a card means I don't use paper money very often anymore, but I carry a few bills to make sure I have some dough if I go to a place that does not accept my card. It is a cleaner, and quicker transaction. Very nice question.

The problem lies on the value of service and item these days, it's too high and tend to be an odd number (495, 503, and so on instead of just plain 500).

It might be better to readjust the currencies.

For example, the old 100 US Dollars is equal to the new 1 US Dollar, while the old 1 US Dollar is equal to the new 1 US Cent.

A PlayStation 2 can cost around US$1.25, while a PlayStation 2 game can cost around US$0.30. A car can cost around US$125, while a gas can cost around US$0.02 to US$0.03 per gallon.

Instead of adjusting the currencies, another way would be to stop producing all denominations under a certain value and stop using them. 1 US Dollar could be the lowest denomination, replacing 1 US Cent.



As for coins and paper notes.

If hygiene is the problem, make it more hygienic.

If durability is the problem, make it more durable.

It should be note a paper note has more surface area than a coin.

Coins tend to be more hygienic and durable than paper notes.



As for mark of the Beast.

As long you're willing to buy and sell, you can NOT avoid the mark of the Beast. Trading on the other hand.

The US Mint actually makes money every year on the minting of coins, specialty products and numismatic collectibles.

Coins are authorized by Congress and it is hardly likely that they will be abolished any time soon. There are literally thousands of daily uses for coinage. From vending machines to the penny pony at the department stores.

You can always hoard your coins in a container. You would be surprised how fast it adds up. Many years ago we put every coin we got in a jar, and added so much a week to a Christmas Club account. The next Fall rolled around and we had our Christmas Shopping done before Thanksgiving.

Make those nasty coins work for you!!

Some coins are unneeded. Pennies are at the top of the list. Nickles are also pretty much useless. Even dimes are questionable. One and two dollar bills are also useless.

My idea would be a one and two dollar coin, quarters and dimes. Resize the coins (vending machine industry is screaming). Make the $2 larger than the susan b anthony, make the $1 same size as susan b, quarter the size of a nickle, and leave the dime alone.

Coins are cheaper to mint and last years longer than bills. And have you ever spent 10 minutes trying to get that flakey dollar bill into a vending machine?

Coins are great for collecting.
Pretty soon the govt. will force you to take a mark on your right wrist or your forehead.
When you accept that mark, you have pretty much accepted the beasts invitation to hell.
But then again, it seems half of you do not believe in hell anyway, or the beast or the MARK there-of...

I like coins, if you do not maybe it's cause you have a lot of money...
My Christmas wish then is that you send me all of your unwanted coin(s).
I probably need them more than you.
Now we have our MORE COLLECTIBLE QUARTERS, and NICKLES...
Next they, the GOV'T, needs to put out some new DIMES with OLD DIME images on them.
Silver coins are pretty cool. Gold coins are AWESOME...

No - we should get rid of notes.

They're smelly, even dirtier than coins (you can wash them, you can't wash notes) and they wear out and need to be destroyed after a while - at which point they also pollute the environment and mean we need to chop down some more trees to make more.

They need to make high demonination coins and we'll save a lot of trees!

Having said that, why use either - isn't plastic good enough these days?

Yes Coins are more expensive to make, but they have a nearly unlimited life, where a Note lasts less than 6 months. Give me coins any day./

Yes, change is only good for 2 things... Putting im those damn tip jars you see at the counters every where (where all of a sudden we are to tip) and to put in the poor people jar next to the tip jar.

Everyone should start taking debit cards so we don't even have to use cash money!

Did you know that the rest of the country uses and like coins??? We all use coins to give exact money so that we don't have to bother with getting change.
