Dems should not lower themselves to that level. It is against what we stand for.

It is not un-american or unpatriotic to critcize the government or its policies. heck, we see cons do it all the time when we're talking about welfare, unions, or anything that's not in the conservative agenda yet public policy.

It is perfectly ok to criticize the government for making mistakes, but do it the right way. So many of the criticisms were not constructive criticisms but vindictive ones. Going to Europe and criticizing our President like the Dixie Chicks did was definitely un-American. We criticized Clinton, but we didn't run around the globe hugging communist leaders while doing it like Harry Belafonte. It's totally American to criticize mistakes our government makes, just do it in America.

I do NOT understand why the Republicans think that criticizing th government is un-American. And, no, we should not do it. We're better than that.

Come on. Read your history books. That's what we did back in th 1770's. We criticized England, and the oppressive choices the King was making. They, in return, slapped large taxes on us, and no traders, nor anyone who sold to traders, could make a livelihood. Then we revolted.

And it all started from criticism of our government... wait, does that mean that people who think questioning your leaders is un-American, are un-American themselves?

We are allowed to question our leadership, whether in wartime or peacetime. It's not only our right, it's our duty.

No, it is not alright, I do not want to lower myself to their size which is pretty small. I have lived all my life in America and when criticism of the direction the government was taking the country is un-American I just shook my head in wonder as to what these people were thinking. I am sure if the democratic congress does things as unpopular as this president and the republican congress then the democrats themselves will be critical of them. It really is the American way.

Can you even give any specific examples of republican leaders who called democrats unpatriotic for pointing out mistakes? seriously. The only examples I can think of are when people like John Kerry say that the troops in Iraq are only there because they're too stupid to do anything else, or that our troops are terrorizing women and children in the dark of night, and doing no good at all. If that's what you're talking about, then I agree that those are unpatriotic statements by John Kerry.

I don't think anyone says dems are unpatriotic for being against giving parents choice in what school their kids go to, or for being against allowing social security recipients build savings in a private account rather than having the government control the money, or for being in favor of abortions up until and including the day of birth. I think they are wrong, and possibly immoral on some of those issues, but not unpatriotic.

You need to discern between criticizing a policy and criticizing the troops, and appearing to almost root against america in this war. That may be beyond your capability though.

the unique concept of our shape and our invoice of rights exchange into based upon the concept-concerning the supremacy of the guy. If the 1st attention of government is for the guy..... ALL persons..... then no person gets omitted of any benefit or detriment the government enacts. on the different hand liberalism is predicated upon concerns being utilized to teams..... to a undeniable portion of our inhabitants, yet to no longer others..... based upon some nebulous could benefit or to punish. in the 1st case no person gets excluded. in the 2d case exclusion, no longer equality, is the objective. merely have a severe verify out what the liberals here on YA say, and what they help. it is not equality. They help the two advantages or effects being utilized or offered to specific segments of our inhabitants, yet to no longer all. it particularly is preferential medical look after some, yet no longer for all. If our proper government is one that treats each and every physique the two then it can not be a liberal one for which would be one wherein liberals would and do oppose.

nope.. I don't resort to name calling.. I believe anyone in this country that has opinions, has concerns, makes their voices heard, and cares about this country whether I agree with them or not is American... now yes they did call us UnAmerican.. but that just shows the ignorance of the people that did.... I'm not ignorant.. so I won't resort to it

I think it's because so many Democrats really despise America.
Some of them want to turn this country into a socialist nation.
