I did one on Tourette's Syndrome once. It was really interesting. I also did a demonstrative one on croquet. Both were pretty fun.

Here is an idea that I did for my speech class, and the teacher (and everyone else) loved it. Easy 100.
Importance of Organ Donation.
1. Start by finding organ donation websites. You can even find printable cards and flyers to pass out after the speech.
2. Find pictures and life stories of organ donors and those who's lives were saved because of the donations. These are usually found at the same organ donation sites, but you can also google "organ donation stories." Print the pictures and blow them up so that your class can see the real people you talk about in your speech. Makes it much more meaningful and real.
3. Find info on how organ donation works. Talk about its respectability, importance and need, and general process.
4. Make sure you offer to answer questions.
Here are some sites:
organtransplants.org
shareyourlife.org (here you can get printable info and cards...this is also where I (and family) are registered.

Some of the most interesting topics come from people who are actually interested in the subject. The more enthusisim you show during your speech the better. If you seem interested in the topic, then others will be interested! The best way to go about this is, talk about something that you like. Any sports, hobbies, etc.

I did my final speech for a college speech class on penguins. I even brought in a stuffed penguin so I could demonstrate how they dove in the ocean. I talked about penguins for over 12 minutes because I love them. I only got an A- because I went over by 30 seconds.
So pick something you love and feel passionate about!

I did speeches in college about the history and making of my favorite movies. I always got really high grades because I was able to talk so enthusiastically about my subject.

Try this website: www.bored.com
They have a plethora of random information about various topics. I wrote a speech about a headless chicken based on this site (and won awards for it).

Pick the thing you are most interested in. That way you can add a lot of energy to your presentation, and it is easier to write.
