The last of the Mohicans was Uncas. Uncas was an ally of Hawkeye and the father of Ching-Gach-****. When Ching-Gach-**** was killed during the French and Indian Wars, Uncas could have no more sons. He was the last of the Mohicans. This is not strictly history, but novels of James Fenimore Cooper. So: What happened? Nothing. Cooper leaves it to be understood that Uncas died childless, the last of his tribe.
