sounds like the real thing. start walking around your house. then take a hot shower. and get dressed in something really comfy and go to the hospital. good luck here comes baby.

I just had my 1st child 2weeks ago and I was the same way you are now. I was so confused on what I was suppose to feel and every site I read they stated "you will no".......I have to tell you, they are COMPLETELY correct. I was always having braxton hicks cause when I finally went to the hospital for my induction and they broke my water.....HOLY COW!!!! those are contractions, you won't be able to breath very well and the pain in the top of your stomach is so painful. I was the same though I didn't have back labor or in my abdomen it was all at the top of my stomach. I will call your doctor.......God Bless and Congrats.

There's two really good ways of telling. One, are they regular. You don't need a stopwatch to be able to tell this, honestly. Do they come at somewhat regular intervals, or is it 10minutes-2minutes-7minutes..... The other way to tell is to change what you are doing. If they start when you are sitting, get up and walk around. If they start when you are moving, sit for a second. Drink a glass of water. If they stop - it's braxton's for sure. Labor doesn't stop when you change position/activities or take in water.

Best advice - when it doubt - go to your OB or to the hospital. No matter how silly you feel - they see women ALL the time who aren't in labor, but just need to be sure. Better safe than sorry. They will not think you are silly - in fact - you might even get a sneak peek at the baby or be able to listen to the heartbeat - there's a silver lining to every cloud.

Most importantly - relax! You have 18 years to stress out!!

Contractions that can indicate labor TYPICALLY must be consistant and regular. Look at the time and make sure. Are you spotting, have you already been dialated? What about the intensity? I would be this is it at 41 weeks...yippeeee. Good luck and enjoy the day it will change you forever.
