I don't know, maybe they think standing around a burning cross while wearing a white hood is amusing.

I moved down South from the North because for the most part, I really love the southern way of life, the friendly people, and the warm weather.
The only thing two things about the south that really gets my grits is that a large majority of Businesses and service providers do things half way and are very ineffecient. The second is that I am getting really tired of Baptists and Born again Christians coming to my house and trying to convert me at least 2ce a week.
The slow speaking doesn't bother me. Heck, it gets too hot to talk much faster anyway, right?

Y'all come on back here boy, and we'll treat y'all just fine.
Nice plate of cheese grits, ham hocks, and a mess of greens with some fried mush and fried green maters.
Cultures have a way of poking fun of each other. Southerners make fun of how we refer to Soda as "pop", for instance. Some places in the south call flea markets a "jockey lot". I could go on and on. Accents are a common way to poke fun at one.
We seek out our differences as a way of identifying ourselves and establishing or marking our territory. With all our modern technology, we remain one foot away from the caves socially. Until we learn to act together as THE HUMAN RACE, we will be doomed to such actions as we see in Iraq.

People always question differences. One way to do that is to poke fun at it. Southern people move "up North" and they do the same thing. I've heard some southerners get down right upset because people they met in Ohio didn't know what grits are.

Why do "Northerners", move South to make fun of you?
you are just too easy to make fun of...
But hey as a Southerner, you gotta love that FREAKY movie, "2001 MANIACS"...
About a small souther town, "PLEASANTVILLE" or whatever.
They Detour a bunch of Northerners, College Kids on their way to FLORIDA, and have them as their GUESTS OF HONOR...
Besides the whole town being,"???", they are also CANNIBALS...
FREAKY MOVIE!!!
You should watch it.

Probably for the same reason Southerners move up North then call us all rude because we don't call EVERYBODY "sir" or "ma'am", because those individual people like to feel good about themselves at the expense of others. They're jerks.

I moved down south because it's warmer.
I was a bit disappointed, though.
That "Southern Hospitality" is a myth....

Even worse are the Californians who move to Texas and then whine about things not being done the way they were "back home".

I used to work "darn Sarff" and found that southerners in general couldn't do the simplest of tasks.
Why on earth anyone wants to be there now is beyond me.

the Yankees have small brains and when they get hot they don't work as well ( and you get the best of the bunch - the ones smart enough to move south )
